In June, 2022, twelve experts of Taxon Foundation and Taxon Expeditions stayed at the Noorderheide Estate near Vierhouten, thanks to the Noorderheide Prize, awarded to Menno Schilthuizen. Of course, during the retreat, also the local insect fauna was sampled. The results have been compiled in this report.
Over 360 special species of insects and other invertebrates were found along the Oude Larenseweg in Epse thanks to a unique collaboration between villagers and scientists. With the new discoveries, the neighbourhod hopes to be able to protest against plans of the municipality to surface the age-old dirt road.
